I finally got an RTX 4080 for my first ever build and Im so excited to play Cyberpunk!! but now im totally stuck on the power supply part and i have no idea where to start. sorry if this is a dumb question but do i need a specific brand?
my logic was that higher numbers are better so i was looking at a 1000w one but then my friend said 850w is fine and now im just confused. i dont want to fry my new card because it was so expensive. i have about $150 left in my budget for this and i need to buy it by friday so i can build this weekend. what do you guys think is the safest bet for a beginner like me...

congrats on the 4080! unfortunately some brands i used to trust just arent as good as expected lately which is frustrating when you are trying to be safe. i want to help you get this right so you dont risk that expensive card tho. just a couple things:
- what cpu are you running?
- is your case small or a standard mid-tower? thatll help me narrow down the reliable options.
