I'm planning a new high-end desktop build around the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X CPU and wanted to get some advice on the best motherboard to pair with it. Any recommendations ?

Stumbled upon this today and searching for the absolute best board for a chip like that can be a real rabbit hole. You might want to consider how much of an ordeal these high-end builds can turn into if you aren't prepared for the unexpected. I remember when a buddy of mine was putting together a similar flagship system and he was so obsessed with the specs that he ignored his actual workspace. He was building on this thick shag carpet in his basement... you can guess where this is going. One tiny spark of static while he was handling the parts and the whole thing was basically toast before he even hit the power button. He spent months fighting for RMAs and it was a total disaster. I would suggest just being incredibly careful with the environment you are building in. It really makes me nervous seeing people jump into these top-tier builds... there are just so many ways it can go wrong if you arent prepared.
Building mini-ITX? The ASUS ROG Strix X670E-I Gaming WiFi is your best bet. Fits PCIe 5.0 x16, dual M.2 slots (one Gen5), and a 10+2 phase VRM that’s surprisingly robust for such a tiny board. Cooling is tight in SFF cases, but the heatsinks here are chunky. Downsides? Only two DDR5 slots and $$$ pricing, but you’re paying for AM5 ITX rarity. Pair it with a beefy SFX PSU, and you’re golden.
Get a high-end X670E motherboard.
