What is the best gaming monitor for PS5 players on a budget?

Ive been a PC gamer forever so I know my way around refresh rates and panel types but man the PS5 compatibility list is stressing me out. My old monitor just died and I need a replacement by Friday for my brothers bday gift. I have like 250 bucks max to spend.

I know I want 120hz for stuff like COD but do I actually need HDMI 2.1 for that? Some people say yes some say no and I dont want to buy a brick that only does 60hz on console. Is there a specific 24 or 27 inch model thats actually confirmed to work with the PS5s weird 120hz output without breaking the bank? I really need to get this ordered tonight...

You dont need HDMI 2.1 for 1080p 120Hz, only for 4K. For that budget, ASUS TUF Gaming VG249Q1A 24 inch 1080p 165Hz is a solid bet and confirmed to work with PS5. If you want 27 inches, LG UltraGear 27GN650-B 27 inch 1080p 144Hz is also reliable. Both fit the 250 limit and handle COD at 120Hz just fine tho.

Regarding what 2 said about "Just saw this and had to jump in..."I'm dealing with the exact same issue. Every high-refresh panel I test unfortunately caps at 60Hz. Been searching for weeks.
