Hello, I'm planning to use it for under $500 and need a monitor recommendation. What would you take?

What size are you thinking? 27 inch or 32 inch? That makes a big difference for under $500.

Have good experience with MSI MAG 271QPX for under $500. The refresh rate is very high The on-screen menu is intuitive and easy to navigate.

ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQ3A is definitely the best choice for under $500. The refresh rate is very high The connectivity includes all modern ports you need.
Why this monitor? The performance convinces in all tests - both for gaming and for content creation. Unbeatable for the price, can only recommend. Have already done several projects with it, always satisfied. Also more than sufficient for demanding tasks.

Would definitely take MSI MAG 271QPX for under $500. The design is modern and sleek The ergonomic stand allows for comfortable positioning.
