I'm finally upgrading my old rig because Premiere is literally crawling while I try to edit this 4K wedding footage for a client. Deadline is in like ten days so I need to buy something tonight. I'm torn between the RTX 4070 Ti Super since it has that 16GB VRAM which I heard is crucial for 4K timelines but then the 4080 Super is tempting for the extra raw power.

My logic was the 4070 Ti Super is cheaper and fits my smaller case better but will I regret not just spending the extra $200 for the 4080? Budget is strictly under $1000. Is the performance jump in Premiere actually noticeable for rendering or is it just marginal for the price...

Unfortunately, ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4080 Super 16GB was a letdown for the price. Not as good as expected honestly.

  • get PNY GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB Verto
  • fits better Need help?

Just saw this and honestly you will be very satisfied with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB GDDR6X. I switched to one a few months back for my own studio and it works well for heavy 4K timelines, no complaints at all. The 16GB VRAM is the real hero here for Premiere. Heres a couple reasons why the 4070 Ti Super makes more sense:

  • Same VRAM as the 4080 Super so you wont hit memory walls during color grading.
  • Dual AV1 encoders are included which makes rendering those wedding exports way faster.
  • Lower power draw means less heat in that small case you mentioned. Tbh the 4080 Super is great but the performance gain in Premiere is pretty marginal for the extra 200 bucks. Id grab the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB since its built well and stays quiet. Spend the extra money on more RAM or faster NVMe drives instead.
