I'm planning a new build and I'm set on using an LGA 1700 socket motherboard. However, I'm struggling to decide which CPU to go for. There are so many options like the i5-13600K, i7-13700K, i9-13900K, and even the newer 14th gen processors.

My main uses will be gaming, streaming, and some light video editing. I'm looking for the best balance of performance, power efficiency, and value for money.

What do you think is currently the best LGA 1700 CPU? Is it worth waiting for any upcoming releases? Any insights on real-world performance would be greatly appreciated!

What is your budget ? If you don't mind the price, get the 14900K.

@good_bad Around $400.

Depends what you mean by "best" but for gaming, the 13700K or 14700K are probably the sweet spot. Great performance without the power consumption madness of the 13900K/14900K. The 12900K is still solid too if you can find it cheaper. For productivity work, the 13900K edges out slightly but runs hot and pulls serious watts. Really depends on your use case and budget.

@noah Agree, 14700K is the best value overall.

While the 14900KS is powerful, the 13700K offers excellent performance for its price and remains a special, highly capable processor.
