I’m upgrading my workstation for heavy 4K editing in Premiere Pro. I'm looking at the i7-14700K versus the i9-14900K but am worried about the heat issues I've heard about lately. Since QuickSync is a must for my workflow, which specific Intel chip provides the best balance of speed and stability for professional use?

So basically the consensus is to play it safe. I've heard some pretty scary stories about that i9 crashing during long exports...

- Intel Core i7-14700K: Much more stable and runs cooler. It's definitely the safer bet for actual work.
- Intel Core i9-14900K: Super fast, but be careful with the heat issues people keep mentioning.

Honestly, I'd suggest the i7 cuz stability is everything when you've got deadlines! gl

For your situation, I think I'd suggest the i7. I'm not 100% sure but iirc those i9 heat issues are a real headache for long 4K renders (at least from what I've seen lately).

- i7-14700K: Best balance, plenty of power for Premiere.
- i9-14900K: Faster on paper, but runs way too hot tbh.

Basically, the i7 is the safer bet for professional stability... the i9 is just a lot to manage sometimes. gl!
