To add to the point above: it seems like the consensus here is to hunt for those deep discounts on the 5000 and 7000 series chips. While those raw prices look great, I would suggest being careful about the hidden costs of switching platforms. If you grab a cheap AMD Ryzen 7 5700X, you are saving money now but staying on the older AM4 socket, which might limit what you can do later on. I might want to consider the AMD Ryzen 5 7600X for a more cost-effective long-term build. Even though DDR5 memory is still a bit pricier than the older stuff, the performance jump is definitely there. Compared to Intel chips like the Intel Core i5-13600K, the AMD side usually stays cooler which means you wont need to spend as much on a massive liquid cooler or something fancy. Just make sure to double check your power supply capacity before upgrading tho... especially if you're coming from an older setup. It's usually better to look at the total system price rather than just the discount on the CPU itself.
