What is actually the best free app for doing Secret Santa online because I am honestly stressing out over here. I am the designated organizer for my family this year and I need to have names drawn by this Friday so everyone has time to ship stuff from NYC to California before our party.
I spent an hour looking at Elfster but people online say the email notifications always end up in the spam folder and I just cant deal with being tech support for my older relatives. Then I saw DrawNames but it seems like everyone has to create a profile first? Is there anything that just lets me put in emails and hit send without a whole big process...
@Reply #1 - good point about the reliability there, but honestly, I have had issues with the interface on that one lately. It feels a bit clunky for 2024. Ngl, I am pretty disappointed with most of the big-name options these days because they either spam you with ads or force everyone to make a profile like you saw with DrawNames. Such a headache for older relatives who barely know their passwords. If you want something that just works, I usually suggest Secret Santa Organizer. It is super bare-bones and doesnt require accounts. It basically just sends a link to everyone and you are done. Just a heads up tho, how many family members are you actually trying to coordinate? Some of these simple sites get weird if the list is over 20 people or if you need complex exclusion rules for couples who live together...
Late to the party but I have been doing this for ten years. Last year I tried a fancy site and it was a mess because people wouldnt download the app.
You gotta try Sneaky Santa! I have used it forever and it is honestly amazing for keeping things simple and safe. The reliability for older folks is just fantastic!!
