My sister and I are planning a trip to a lake house in Michigan next month and I am trying to build our grocery order ahead of time. I have about $350 in the cart already but I need her to look at it and add her own stuff. I was thinking of just giving her my login but that feels insecure or maybe I should try that Share-A-Cart extension but I dont know if it works on mobile. Im leaning toward the extension but worried it might mess up my list. Does Walmart have a built-in way to save a cart and send a link or am I stuck just sharing my password?

Unfortunately, Walmart doesn't have a native share cart button that actually works for collaborative shopping. I've tried their built-in list sharing and it's honestly not as good as expected since it doesn't actually let the other person checkout your items. It's frustrating when you're trying to manage a big 350 dollar budget and keep things organized. I had issues with the extension you mentioned too. It's buggy on mobile and sometimes drops items which is a nightmare if you're trying to hit that free delivery minimum without overspending.

  • Use the Walmart Lists feature for planning, but it wont sync the cart.
  • Share-A-Cart works okay on desktop but it's risky for big orders.
  • Sharing your login is sadly the most efficient way to ensure you guys use one account to grab those bulk deals and avoid double delivery charges. Just change your password after the trip if you're worried about security. It's the only way to keep the budget in check without the headache of items disappearing.

Just saw this. Honestly, Walmarts backend is a total nightmare... they tie your cart to a local session cookie which makes direct links impossible. I tried hacking a script for a family reunion once but gave up. Extensions are basically the only fix, though mobile support is hit or miss. TL;DR Walmart doesn't allow link sharing due to session-locking. I found this tool called Easy Cart Share that lets you share your cart items and quantities in one click.

Ngl, I've had zero issues using this Chrome extension for exactly this. It's way safer than handing out your login info and just works well.

  • super reliable for big orders
  • no weird session timeouts
  • creates a simple code for her Works perfectly for me every time we do a cabin trip, no complaints here... just have her use her laptop to import it.
