Im trying to figure out how to do one of those online gift lists where everyone can see what people want but I have no clue where to even begin. My family is getting pretty big and everyone lives in different places now like some are in Ohio and others are way down in Florida so we cant just do a paper list on the fridge anymore. Im really not tech savvy at all so if this is a stupid question Im sorry but I just want something simple.
Here is what Im looking for:
Is there a specific website or maybe an app that does this? I tried looking at Amazon but it seemed like you could only add stuff from their store and my kids want things from some local shops too. I need to get this set up by next Tuesday so we can start shopping early. Does anyone know a way to make this work without it being a giant headache... I just want everyone to have a nice holiday without the stress of returning three of the same Lego set.
> Id like if people could mark things as bought so we dont get double of the same toy Checking this out a day late, but I've tested a few platforms for my own group. If avoiding duplicates across different stores is the main goal, you should look at Giftful or GiftHero. Giftful is solid because it has a clean interface that doesnt feel cluttered. It lets you add items from any website using a link, which solves that Amazon limitation you mentioned. The claim feature is straightforward... once someone marks it, it is hidden from the rest of the group so you wont get those double Lego sets. GiftHero is another decent option. It is arguably even simpler for someone who isnt tech-savvy since the layout is minimal. Both have mobile apps that work well. The main downside is that everyone has to create an account, which can be a hurdle for some, but the actual list-making is simple.
Ive used Elfster for a few years now and honestly, Im super satisfied with how it handles data from different sites. Its free and works well for my family spread across the country.
Are you planning a secret santa draw or just simple lists? If you want to save your mom some trouble, find a tool that doesnt require an account login every time. I have been really satisfied with link-sharing sites because they keep things free and uncomplicated. Works well for my group too. Btw, I use Share Product Wishlist for my secret santa groups so everyone gets exactly what they need.
