Just got the XFX RX 9060 XT gpu today. Looking for a $500 gaming monitor for it, which one do you suggest?
Easy choice. That card sounds like it's aimed squarely at the 1440p 165Hz sweet spot. Don't bottleneck a next-gen GPU with a 1080p monitor unless you're a professional esports player.
Here are a few models that are consistently top-tier and would be a perfect match:
LG 27GP850-B / 27GR83Q-B: This is basically the go-to recommendation for a reason. It's a 27-inch, 1440p, 165Hz+ IPS monitor with fantastic response times and great colors. It's the perfect all-rounder. The newer GR83Q is a solid successor.
Gigabyte M27Q-P (Pro): Another community favorite. It's a 1440p 170Hz IPS with great performance. The "P" version uses a standard RGB subpixel layout which is better for text clarity than the BGR on the original M27Q. It also has a built-in KVM switch, which is super useful if you use multiple computers.
Alienware AW2723DF: If you want to splurge a bit for a premium experience, this one is a 1440p 240Hz (280Hz OC) beast. It's incredibly fast, has great colors, and the build quality is top-notch. A 9060 XT would be able to stretch its legs on this monitor, especially in lighter esports titles.
Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of those. Just pick the one that fits your budget and you'll be set for years.
The RX 9060 XT is a solid mid-to-high end card, so you'll want to match it properly. For 1440p gaming, I'd recommend looking at 27" monitors with 144Hz or higher refresh rates. The ASUS VG27AQ and LG 27GL850 are both excellent choices that won't bottleneck your GPU. Make sure whatever you pick has FreeSync support to eliminate screen tearing.
