My old rig finally died mid-edit and now I'm panicking because I have a huge 4K wedding project due next Friday. I'm literally at the Microcenter parking lot right now trying to decide between the i7-14700K and the i9-14900K. I've heard the i9 runs super hot and might throttle if I dont get a massive cooler but those extra cores sound tempting for render times.

My budget is pretty capped at $500 for the CPU and I really need this to be stable for long exports in Premiere Pro. Is the jump to the i9 actually worth the extra hundred bucks or should I just stick with the i7 and put that money toward 64GB of RAM instead? I'm honestly freaking out because I cant afford another crash mid-render...

So I am honestly a bit of a disaster when it comes to organizing my life right now. My boyfriend and I just moved into a new apartment in Chicago and the rent is way higher than our last place so we are trying to be really careful with our budget and not waste food. The problem is our grocery shopping is a total nightmare. We keep texting each other stuff like 'hey can you pick up bread' but then I forget he said that or he doesnt see my message until hes already back home and then we have to go out again. Yesterday we ended up with three cartons of eggs in the fridge and no milk and it just feels so stupid lol.

I spend pretty much my whole day on my laptop for work using Chrome and he does the same thing on his computer in the other room. I heard from a friend that there are these things called extensions that you can add to the top of your browser to help with lists and stuff but I have absolutely no idea how they work or if they are even safe to use. Im really sorry if this is a dumb question but I am just so lost with all the options in the web store thing. I tried looking but there are like a hundred of them and I dont want to accidentally download something that breaks my computer or costs a lot of money because we are really trying to save every penny. We really just need something super simple where I can type 'cereal' on my screen and it shows up on his screen too so whoever goes to the store first knows what we actually need.

Here is kind of what I am hoping for if it even exists:

Something very simple for someone who isnt tech savvy at all

It needs to be free because of our tight budget

A way for both of us to see the same list at the same time

Maybe something that works on the phone too? Or is that asking for too much?

I dont know if I need to make a special account for these or if it just connects to our email or what. Every time I try to look into it I just get overwhelmed by all the buttons and settings. Is there one specific Chrome extension that you guys think is the absolute best for couples who just want to share a basic grocery list without a bunch of confusing bells and whistles? I just want to stop buying double of everything...

So I'm totally lost here and the holidays are basically tomorrow and my family is driving me crazy asking what the kids want. I tried writing it down on a piece of paper but my toddler literally ate it, or drew on it, i dont even know but it's gone now and i need something online so i dont lose it again.

I was thinking maybe there's a website where I can just put links? My logic was that if I can just copy the link from Amazon or Target then everyone can just click it but I have no idea if that exists for free. I dont want to pay for a subscription just to make a list for one month out of the year. My budget for gifts is already tight enough as it is. I looked at Google Docs but it looks so messy and I cant figure out how to make it look nice or show if someone already bought the thing.

Is there like a specific app or site that handles this? Sorry if this is a super basic thing everyone knows about but I am just so overwhelmed right now and my brain is fried from work. I need to get this sent to my mother in law by tonight or shes just gonna buy them more socks they dont need. Does anyone know a way to do this easily without being a tech genius? I just need a simple way to share a list that updates when someone picks something...

My current laptop is literally dying on me and I have a flight to Lisbon in exactly twelve days for a three-month remote stint. The screen flickers every time I tilt it and the battery lasts maybe forty minutes now so I am in a total panic. I do digital marketing and project management so my day is basically 40 Chrome tabs, Slack, Zoom, and some light Canva or CapCut editing. I need something that weighs basically nothing because I only travel with a 40L backpack and every ounce counts.

I have been doing some research and the MacBook Air M3 seems like the obvious choice but I am honestly so torn. My logic was that the battery life is unbeatable but I read a bunch of threads saying that because it has no fan it might throttle if I am working in a hot cafe or doing a video export. Then I looked at the Dell XPS 13 because it is so sleek but that new capacitive touch row and the invisible trackpad look like a usability nightmare for someone who actually types for a living. I am also seeing a lot of hype around those new Snapdragon Windows laptops like the Surface Laptop 7 but I am terrified that my legacy apps or some weird printer driver in a co-working space wont work.

What I need:

Must be under 2.8 lbs

Real world battery of 10+ hours since I dont always find a plug

Bright screen for working near windows

Budget is around $1500 but I could stretch to $1700 if it is perfect

I am really stuck on whether the 13 inch screen is going to be too cramped for all-day work or if I should risk the extra weight of a 15 inch. But then will the 15 inch even fit on those tiny fold-down airplane trays? I am just going in circles and the clock is ticking... what are you guys actually using for long-term travel that doesnt kill your back?

Trying to get our new place in Phoenix set up and its honestly been a nightmare trying to pick out furniture with my boyfriend. We have like an $800 budget for the whole living room so obviously we are looking at Walmart since its the most affordable option right now but trying to shop together online is driving me crazy. I looked up how to share a cart and I saw some stuff about their registry feature but that seems way too formal and complicated for just picking out a coffee table and a rug? Like I dont want to make a whole wedding registry just to buy a lamp. I also read about these browser extensions that are supposed to let you shop together but the reviews say they are super glitchy or only work for Amazon. We keep just texting links back and forth on our phones but then the app refreshes and I lose my place or he clicks a link and it opens his own cart and its just a mess. Is there actually a decent way to browse the Walmart site together in real time where we can both see the same screen or at least add to one single cart that actually works? Its making this whole move so much more stressful than it needs to be...

I just got an iPad Air for my drawing class next month and I'm honestly terrified of scratching the screen or breaking it because I dropped my phone last week and the screen shattered everywhere. I've been looking online and I'm totally lost there are so many options like tempered glass and some that feel like paper and some that are just flimsy plastic stickers.

I really have no idea where to start or what the difference even is between them. Is the paper one better for drawing? I heard it can wear down the pencil tip and those pencils are like a hundred dollars so I dont want to ruin that either. My budget is about 25 or 30 bucks because I already spent way too much on the tablet itself.

I need to get it ordered like today so it gets here before I head back to campus in two weeks. Sorry if this is a super basic thing to ask I just really dont want to mess up the installation and end up with bubbles all over the place which always happens when I try to put one on my phone. Does anyone know which brand is actually worth the money and wont be a nightmare to put on?
