so i finally decided to stop using my old laptop that literally sounds like a vacuum cleaner every time i open an excel sheet. it is seriously so loud my cat wont even sit near me anymore when im working. my cousin told me i should just build my own pc and said it is super easy like lego for adults but honestly looking at all these parts lists is making my brain melt a little bit. im really excited to actually have a real desk setup but i have no idea where to even start with the brain of the computer... the cpu thingy.

i basically just do office work from my house in cleveland and i use a lot of chrome tabs like maybe 30 at once and some big spreadsheets and i might want to edit some photos of my dog but nothing crazy. i have a micro center near me and my budget for the whole computer is like 500 or 600 dollars total so i really need to find a cheap but good intel chip. my cousin said i should stick to intel because they are reliable for work stuff but there are so many numbers. i see i3 and i5 and then long numbers like 12100 or 13400 and some have letters at the end like k or f? i am so lost lol.

sorry if this is a really dumb question but is an i3 actually good enough for a grown up office job or will it be super slow? i dont want to spend extra money on an i7 if i dont need it but i also dont want to be frustrated in six months because it cant handle my multitasking. what is the best budget intel cpu right now that wont break the bank but still feels fast? i really want to get all the parts by next weekend so i can try to build it on my day off...

honestly i am so incredibly done with trying to herd these cats. im trying to organize this massive family reunion for like 26 people next July in the Outer Banks and it is proving to be a total nightmare. I thought starting a year out would make it easy but nope. Everyone has their own drama and its driving me up a wall. My sister is a teacher so she is flexible but my brother works in finance and says he cant even look at a calendar until January which is basically useless because the big beach houses that fit all of us for under 8k are literally disappearing as I type this.

I sent out a Doodle poll and like half the people didnt even open the link and the ones who did just marked every single weekend as maybe or if need be which doesnt help me at all. Then you have my aunt who refuses to travel the same week as her local dog show. Its just... a lot. I feel like I am the only one actually trying to make this happen while everyone else is just waiting for it to magically fall into place. Im getting so frustrated because if we dont put the deposit down by next Friday for this one house in Corolla we are totally screwed and will have to stay in some dump or pay way more than we planned.

I have this giant color coded spreadsheet and I keep updating it every time someone changes their mind but then someone else says oh wait I forgot about my kids soccer camp and we are back to square one. Its exhausting and I feel like a travel agent who isnt even getting paid. I love my family but I am seriously about ten minutes away from just booking a solo trip to a spa and letting them figure it out themselves because this is way too much stress for a vacation.

How do you guys actually get people to commit to a date when everyone has different work schedules and lives? Is there some secret trick or a specific way to word the emails so people actually take it seriously and give a hard yes or no?

here is what im looking for:

under 40 bucks if possible

fits a 13 inch macbook air

doesnt weigh a ton

super easy to fold up fast

i saw some that look like little metal sticks and others that are like big plastic plates and i have no clue which one actually helps your neck more or if they all do the same thing? also do i need a separate keyboard if i use one of these stands because it seems like typing would be weird if the laptop is way up in the air? im totally lost lol. if anyone has a favorite brand or even just a link to one they use that would be awesome...

So I am finally doing it!! My friends and I are planning this massive camping trip out near the Deschutes National Forest in Oregon next month and I am the one tasked with finding all the gear like the big 10-person tent, the stoves, all the dehydrated meals, the whole nine yards. There is 8 of us total so it is a huge operation and we have a collective budget of about 1200 bucks which sounds like a lot until you realize how expensive good sleeping pads are. I have been spending literal hours on sites like REI and Amazon and even some niche camping stores like Backcountry and my browser tabs are just a total mess right now lol it is honestly kind of overwhelming.

I really need a way to just bundle everything up in a neat little package and send the whole cart to my buddy Dave because he is the one with the group fund and the corporate card who is actually clicking buy on everything. I did a bit of digging and I read that Share-A-Cart is supposed to be the gold standard for this but then I saw some recent forum posts saying it doesnt always work with certain retailers or it misses the specific quantities you set. That would be a total nightmare if we end up with 1 sleeping bag instead of 8 when we get to the trailhead... I also checked out this thing called Basket but that seems way more like a save for later Pinterest vibe and I really just need a direct send this cart to someone else so they can pay button.

Does anyone know if there is an extension that actually works across multiple different sites reliably? Or maybe one that lets two people add stuff to the same cart in real time? I am so hyped for this trip because we havent all been together since before the pandemic but the logistics of everyone agreeing on which stove to get is driving me nuts and I just want to send a finished cart and say here, this is the one. Is there anything better than just sending a dozen individual links in a group chat?

basically i need something stable that won't break the bank—budget is strictly under $200 since we're pushing most of the cash into the GPU. we're just dropping a 7600X in there for now but i want decent enough VRMs so he can upgrade to a 9000 series chip later without the board melting.

must have at least 3 m.2 slots

wifi is a must (hes in a dorm)

bios flashback because i dont want to deal with cpu compatibility issues out of the box

is the Asrock Steel Legend still the king for value or did i miss a better option that came out recently? i'm hovering over the buy button and just need some real-world feedback before i commit to one of these...

So Ive been doing the Walmart grocery thing for literally years now, usually its pretty seamless but Im hitting this wall with the cart sharing feature and its driving me crazy. Were hosting this big housewarming thing in Cincinnati this weekend and Im trying to stay under a $250 budget for the snacks and drinks, so Im building this massive list. I wanted to send the link to my partner so she could double check the brands I picked out because she is super picky about the generic vs name brand stuff.

I go into the app, hit the share icon, get the link, and text it over. But every single time she clicks it on her phone, it just opens the Walmart app to the main home screen. It doesnt actually load the items I picked. I was thinking maybe it was just a glitch with her phone, but I tried sending it to my work phone too and same thing. Its like the deep link is totally broken on mobile right now. My logic was that maybe it works better on desktop, so I tried the web version, but even there, the shared link just takes her to her own empty cart.

Ive already tried the basic stuff like clearing the app cache and making sure we both have the latest update from the app store. I even tried toggling my VPN off because I thought maybe that was messing with the redirect headers or something, but no luck. Is this just a known bug? It is weird because I use similar features on Amazon and Target all the time without any issues. I was wondering if maybe its a session timeout thing, but it happens even if I generate a fresh link and she clicks it five seconds later.

If anyone has a workaround or knows if Im just missing a toggle in the settings somewhere, let me know. I really dont want to have to screenshot thirty items just to get her approval on the grocery list before Saturday...

I've been using BrickSeek for years now, like since the early days of hunting for those $50 TVs and rare LEGO sets, but lately its been giving me so much grief. I live out in the suburbs of Denver and there are like 4 Supercenters within a 20 mile radius of me so I used to just check the SKUs on my lunch break and go hit them up if something looked good. But man the last three times I went out for something specific the site said In Stock and the employees just looked at me like I had three heads when I asked. My logic was always that BrickSeek was the gold standard because they had the best local data feeds but now I'm starting to wonder if Walmart finally tightened the screws on their inventory API or something.

I'm currently trying to track down a specific Breville Bambino that some people are reporting is hitting clearance for like $240 at certain locations which would be a steal for my sisters wedding gift next month. My budget is pretty tight so I really need that clearance price to make it work. I checked the SKU on BrickSeek and it said 3 in stock at the store in Aurora. Drove all the way there, nothing. Not even a shelf tag. Checked another store that said Limited Stock and the guy in electronics actually looked in the back for me and said their internal handheld showed zero.

I tried the basic SKU search

checked the UPC directly just in case

used the local zip code radius search

I know about the whole ghost inventory thing and how theft or miscounts mess with the numbers but this feels different because it's happening every single time now. I used to have a solid 80% success rate with them. Is everyone moving over to something else that I missed? I tried using the actual Walmart app in In-Store mode but that thing is a laggy mess and half the time it just tries to ship it to me from the warehouse instead of showing what's actually sitting on the shelf. I dont know if I should just pay for the premium BrickSeek tier again or if thats just throwing money away at this point if the data is junk. Are there any other scrapers or inventory trackers that people are using these days that actually work for Walmart? Or is the game just dead now...

so i keep seeing this price drop catch thing mentioned and im kinda confused if it actually works? im trying to buy a new standing desk for my home office since my back is killing me lately but my budget is strictly $300 and i really want to get a deal before the end of the month. i thought maybe this tool would just tell me when the price goes down? my logic was that it might save me from checking the site every ten minutes but i dont even know where to start or if i have to pay for it. sorry if this is a dumb question but is it actually safe to use for someone who isnt good with computers?...
