What is the absolute cheapest B650 motherboard I can buy for a Ryzen 7000 chip that wont actually blow up or something? I am honestly so lost looking at all these different models and brands and everything is so expensive for some reason. I thought building a PC was supposed to be fun but I am just stressed out because I dont know what any of these technical specs even mean. Like what is a VRM or a power phase and why are there so many different ports on the back??

I saved up about $150 for the motherboard but even that feels like a lot for just a piece of plastic honestly. I am in Ohio so I can go to Micro Center if they have a deal but their website just makes me more confused. I already bought the Ryzen 7600 chip because someone told me it was good but now I am stuck. I just want to play some Minecraft and maybe try newer games like Cyberpunk but I dont need all the fancy lights or any of that extra stuff people talk about. Sorry if this is a dumb question but is there any specific board that is just solid and doesnt cost a fortune? I need to get this thing built by next weekend for a birthday gift to myself but I am just staring at my parts list crying lol...

I've been looking at the MSI PRO B650M-A WiFi and the Gigabyte B650M DS3H since they seem like the go-to budget picks but the reviews are all over the place. Some people say the MSI has crazy long boot times while others complain about coil whine on the Gigabyte. I just want something stable for gaming that wont give me headaches. Which one is actually the better bet right now?

honestly im just so over looking at these prices right now everything is so expensive for am5 it makes no sense. i tried to cheap out with this gigabyte a620 board i found on sale but the vrm is literally cooking and my 7700x is thermal throttling like crazy even with a decent cooler i mean i shouldve known better but still. its just frustrating because i spent all my money on the cpu and ddr5 and now im stuck with a system that feels like a space heater and i just want something that actually works without costing $300.

im in the middle of a video project for a client and i cant even finish a render without the whole thing stuttering or crashing it’s driving me insane. i have maybe $160 left in my budget for this month to replace it and i need something that doesnt have garbage boot times because ive heard some b650s take forever to post. i usually shop at the microcenter in dallas so if they have it in stock that would be even better.

what are the actual decent budget b650 boards that wont die on me or throttle my chip? like is the asrock pro rs actually good or is it just another trap...

So I'm finally moving over to AM5 after years on an old Intel 9th gen setup. I already picked up a Ryzen 7600 and some DDR5 RAM but I'm really stuck on the motherboard choice. I'm building in a SAMA IM01 case so it has to be mATX and I don't have a massive budget left for the board maybe 140 or 150 bucks max since I spent way too much on the GPU already.

I've been looking at the MSI PRO B650M-A WIFI and the Gigabyte B650M DS3H. The MSI one seems better built with the heatsinks and stuff but I've heard some things about slow boot times on MSI boards lately which kinda worries me because I hate waiting for my PC to start up. On the other hand the Gigabyte one is cheaper and usually has fast boots but the VRMs look a bit wimpy compared to others and the layout looks a bit cramped. I also saw the ASRock B650M-HDV/M.2 which is super cheap and reviewers seem to love it but it only has two RAM slots and I'm not sure if that's gonna bite me in the butt later if I want to upgrade to 64GB later on.

Basically I need something stable that wont overheat in a smaller case with less airflow. Between those three which one would you guys actually put in your own machine right now?

I did some digging and everyone keeps recommending the msi mag b650 tomahawk wifi because its reliable but its sitting at like $200 right now and i really dont want to spend more than $160 if i can help it. i also looked at the asrock b650m pro rs which is super cheap but i worry if the vrms can handle beefier cpu upgrades later on since i plan to keep this thing for at least 5 years. its hard to tell what features are actually worth the extra cash and what is just marketing fluff at this point. some people say asrock has the fastest boot times now but others swear by gigabyte even though i keep seeing posts about their coil whine issues.

which b650 motherboard offers the best value for money right now if im trying to stay around that $150-170 mark?

I spent most of my money on the CPU and a GPU so I really need to find something cheap like under $150 if that is even possible for this chip.

I was looking at some cheap ones on Amazon but then I read somewhere that the 13600K gets really hot and might need a good VRM which sounds like a different language to me?? I am so scared of buying the wrong thing and having it not fit or worse like I blow up the processor or something. I live in Ohio and there is a Micro Center about an hour away but I dont want to drive there and look like an idiot asking basic questions if I can just order it online.

Ive seen way too many posts about stability issues and VRMs getting toasted because these chips pull so much power. Im finally building my new 4K gaming rig next week and I got about $500 to spend on the motherboard alone.
