Im usually such a disaster when it comes to the holidays and last year was the absolute peak of it. I ended up forgetting my nephew until the 23rd and the shipping cost literally more than the lego set I bought him it was so embarrassing lol. This year Im trying to be way more organized since I have about 15 people on my list and a super tight $600 budget for everyone including my work secret santa. I did a bit of searching online and saw people mentioning Santa's Bag and GiftPlanner. I downloaded Santa's Bag but the ads are already driving me crazy and it seems like they want you to pay for everything now? And GiftPlanner looks like it hasn't had an update in forever which makes me worried itll just crash and I'll lose everything mid-shopping trip at the mall. I tried just using the Notes app on my phone but it's just a mess and I can't track my spending easily. Im looking for something free that lets me maybe take photos of items and keeps a running total of how much Ive spent so I dont go broke by mid-December. Any of you guys use something that actually works or should I just stick to a spreadsheet??

So I finally decided to move my home lab out of the closet and onto my desk because the closet was getting way too hot and honestly I just want to look at the pretty lights lol. But now I have a huge problem which is the noise. My current power supply sounds like a jet engine even when the server is just idling and its driving me crazy while I'm trying to work. I've been looking around and people keep mentioning the Seasonic Prime Fanless series but then I saw some reviews saying they can have really bad coil whine which would basically defeat the whole purpose of going fanless right? Like if I trade fan noise for a high pitched buzzing I'm gonna lose my mind.

I also looked at the Corsair RM750x because everyone says the fan doesnt even spin up until it hits a certain load but my server pulls about 150-200W constant so I'm worried it might just stay right on the edge where the fan kicks in and out constantly which is actually more annoying than a steady hum. Its that start-stop sound that really gets to me when I'm trying to focus on coding.

Here is what I am dealing with:

Budget is about 150 to 200 bucks tops

Use case is a 24/7 home server running a bunch of Docker containers and a Plex setup

Needs to be shipped to me in Chicago by next Thursday for a weekend build

Power draw is roughly 200W max but I want some headroom for extra drives later

Total silence is the goal since this thing sits 3 feet from my head

Does anyone actually have experience with these fanless units in a real world office setting? Is the Seasonic worth the premium or is there some hidden gem I missed that stays dead quiet under a light load? I was also looking at be quiet! brand but their naming scheme is super confusing and I cant tell which ones are actually silent vs just quiet-ish. Just want something that wont make me regret putting this thing on my desk...

I'm trying to get all the groceries and supplies together for my family reunion we're having next Saturday and honestly it is a total headache trying to keep track of everything. My sister is helping me out with the planning and she needs to add a bunch of stuff like paper plates and specific snacks that only her kids eat but she lives like an hour away so we cant just sit together on one laptop. I'm trying to keep the whole thing under $300 because things are getting crazy expensive lately.

I did some searching online before posting this and I saw some people talking about sharing a Walmart Plus account with family members but that seems more like sharing the benefits and not the actual active cart? I also saw something about a share button on lists but when I tried that it just sent her a view-only link and she couldn't actually add things to the checkout part herself. It's so frustrating because I want her to be able to just throw things in there so I can pay for it all at once with my card. I'm using the app on my iPhone and she has an Android so I dont know if that makes a difference either. Is there an actual way to have a collaborative cart or do we just have to keep sending screenshots back and forth... because that sounds like a nightmare. Is there a way to share my Walmart cart with another user?

honestly im so over my current setup its actually driving me crazy at this point. Ive been trying to fine-tune some smaller models for a project Im working on and my 3060 12gb just keeps hitting that stupid out of memory error every single time I try to do anything meaningful. Its like I spend more time debugging memory issues than actually training anything and its just exhausting. I was looking at the 4090 but the prices are just insane right now and I really dont want to spend 2 grand if I can avoid it. My budget is more in the $1300 to $1500 range because I need to get this done by the end of the month for a research paper and I literally dont have time to keep fighting with this old card. Is there anything out there that actually has enough VRAM for serious AI work without breaking the bank? I heard the 4080 Super might be okay but 16GB still feels kinda low for what Im trying to do. Should I just bite the bullet and go for a used 3090 instead for the 24GB or is there some other card Im missing that actually works for deep learning? I just need something that wont crash every 5 minutes...

I've been looking at these new Weber grills on Walmart.com for my housewarming party next month and the prices are all over the place. One day it's $380, the next it's $450, and I'm really trying to stay under that $400 mark since we just moved to Orlando and everything is expensive right now lol.

So I was thinking there has to be something like CamelCamelCamel but for Walmart. I did some digging and people keep mentioning Keepa, but when I tried to use it, it looked like it's strictly for Amazon? Or maybe I'm just using it wrong. Then I saw PriceBefore, which seems okay I guess, but the data looks kind of laggy and I'm worried it's missing the lightning sales or whatever Walmart calls their Rollbacks. My logic was that if I could see a graph of the last six months, I'd know if $380 is actually a good deal or if it drops even lower.

Honey is fine for coupons but I really want that historical data view so I can time this right. Is there a specific extension or site that actually tracks Walmart inventory and prices accurately? I don't want to miss the window for my party...
