I have had issues with lists where things stayed "in stock" on the app but were long gone on the store site. It is really not as good as expected. The technical side is a mess for a few reasons:

Direct sync needs an API, but big stores wont share that data freely.

Most apps use scraping, which breaks whenever a store updates its website layout.

Security is a worry when linking accounts to random third-party tools. I have tried Giftster and it is decent for organization, but you still have to manually verify things. Another one is Wishlist.com. Nothing replaces clicking the link yourself, tbh. It is not ideal, but it beats having family try to buy sold-out items. You'll get it figured out tho!

Regarding what #14 said about "Wait really?? Thats actually super helpful. I always...", I actually think people might be overlooking the technical trade-offs between the options mentioned. Tbh, while everyone seems to love Easy Cart Share, it really lacks the depth you need for consistent syncing if you're doing this long-term. If you look at the manifest files and how these extensions actually handle data scraping, Share-A-Cart is way more reliable. It uses a cleaner method for session ID handoffs that doesnt break as often when Amazon updates their site code. Easy Cart is okay for a one-off thing, but I've seen it hang on carts with more than 10 items or specific lightning deals which is pretty annoying. Basically, it comes down to stability and permissions. Share-A-Cart has been around longer and has a much more robust architecture for handling regional redirects like .ca or .uk. For someone concerned about security and privacy, the data handling in the Share-A-Cart ecosystem feels a lot more professional than the lighter alternatives. Ngl, sticking with the established player is just smarter for shopping data.

TL;DR: No app is 100 percent perfect for live stock syncing because Amazon and Target keep their systems locked down. I would suggest MyRegistry or Elfster, but keep your expectations realistic. I have spent a lot of time testing these for family events and you really have to be careful with live claims. MyRegistry is probably the most robust option I have found. The pro is that it actually syncs with your Target registry directly, but a major con is that the Amazon integration can be a bit glitchy if your privacy settings arent exactly right. It is a very methodical tool, but it still requires manual oversight. Elfster is the other one I might want to consider for you. Its very user-friendly for grandparents, which is a big plus. On the downside, it definitely doesnt update stock levels in real time. I have seen items show as available when they were long gone. If you use it, make sure to tell your family to buy quickly once they decide. It is safer to assume the stock data is a few hours old at any given time. Honestly, most of these apps are just glorified link aggregators, so dont trust them blindly. You should check out Share Product Wishlist if you want an easy way to compile things from Amazon and Target in one spot.

Saw this today and wanted to share my frustration with the recent Intel refreshes. Honestly it was pretty disappointing trying to spec out 13th or 14th gen i3s for a client recently because the performance gain is basically non-existent for the extra cash. I had issues with the price-to-performance ratio being so poor that it just felt like a ripoff for an office setting. For $110, you really cant go wrong with the Intel Core i3-12100 4 Cores up to 4.3GHz. I ended up using those for a local clinic and they run perfectly quiet and cool. If you can find the Intel Core i3-13100 4 Cores up to 4.5GHz on sale for the same price then sure, grab it, but otherwise dont bother overpaying. Focus that extra budget on getting decent NVMe drives instead... that makes a way bigger difference for office staff than a 200MHz clock bump. Youre doing a good thing for that non-profit tho, keep at it.
